Safflower hybrids between 2n=20 and 2n=24 species were obtained by hand pollination of three cultivars Carthamus tinctorius L. by pollen of Carthamus glaucus M.BIEB. subsp. anatolicus (BOISS.)HANELT. Characters of parental species and hybrids are tabulated. Hybrids with participation of orange flowering varieties of the C.tinctorius L. are blooming in yellow; hybrids with white flowering cultivars remains white. The strong spininess was reported, regardless to mother component spininess dominance. Generally, all hybrids were sterile and their contribution for breeding of cultivars useful for floriculture is discussible.
