Intensive rearing of European perch larvae (Perca fluviatilis L.) fed with starter feed and live food in laboratory conditions
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
We tested the influence of the length of time during which perch larvae were fed with live food during the period of transfer to dry feed (weaning) on growth and survival up to an age of 45 days from the beginning of their feeding with live food (48 daysfrom the hatching). Experiments were performed in a freshwater recirculation system. Perch were held at an average water temperature of 21 °C, in the tanks of 25 1 water volume and at the initial stocking density of 28 larvae.1-1. The average size of the settled fish was 5,94 mg body weight and 10,02 mm totallength. For the initial feeding Artemia salina nauplii were used. A dry commercial feed for rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss ) was also used, with particle size 0,25-0,40 mm and containing 5% protein and 12 % lipid. Fish were transferred to the dry feed at ages of 13, 18, 23 and 28 days, at a weight of6, 13, 29 and 76 mg, respectively. The control group was fed with Artemia salina nauplii throughout the experiment.
