Agriculture can not be viewed only as a source of food, but also its extraproductional function is more and more important. Agriculture can in general have both positive and negative influence on environment and landscape, when the character of this inflis to the great extent determined by the intensity of agricultural production. State support of this extraproductional function has its economical reasoning if under free market powers welfare of the society is deteriorating. The problem is however quantof this impact, especially on bio-diversity, landscape or social and cultural rural development. Because of great variety of these impacts of agricultural production it is not possible to choose any universal method of valuation, which could assess all pnegative environmental aspects of agriculture.
