For the complete analysis of the landscape of the Orlické hory Mts. foothills the cadastral area of Těchonín was selected. A series of surveys and analyses referring to natural conditions, structure of the landscape and its development was carried out there. The study of potential vegetation, actual condition of vegetation by means of phytosociological releves and particularly evaluation of the landscape and determination of its typical features can be considered to be most important. At present, it isa harmonious landscape of the forest type with the high proportion of permanent grassland communities. In the region which is important from many aspects (natural parks, protected area CHOPAV etc.) permanent grassland communities (PGC) play an importantrole. It has been also demonstrated that they are the most natural form of its agricultural use. Thanks to the present-day alternative agriculture using pasture farming diversity of plant species.
