Biodegradable oils are produced on the rape-seed base main raw material for their production being rape Brassica napus. On the other hand, mineral oils are produced of crude oil heavily disturbing natural ecosystems under given conditions. r. Biodegradable oils are produced either as raffinates or as recycled products. Pure raffinates are oils in which the main raw material is treated in such a way to be able to serve as a ready oil for hydraulic systems. The recycled oils are produced from already usedfood oil which will be subject to refining and treatment of the oil components. Biodegradable oils are assessed by means of several parameters (viscosity, acid number, water content), however, the only factor reliably determining its service life is peroxide numbe
