The aim of our study was to monitor the T3 and T4 concentrations in high-production dairy cows in various lactation stages in relation to the phase of the reproductive cycle, selected parameters of the iodine metabolism and supply.Based on our results, the concentration of the hormones of the thyroid gland is influenced by a series of other factors apart from the iodine supply in dairy cows and thus it is impossible to assess the iodine supply in dairy cows based on the concentrations of T4 and T3.
