Název v původním jazyce
Caspase-7 in development of ectodermal organs: Apoptosis or differentiation?
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Several organs are derived from the ectoderm. Development of these structures is controlled by interplay of proliferation, differentiation and cell death mainly mediated by caspase activation. Caspase-7 together with caspases-3 and -6 belongs to the trioof executive caspases. Despite the primary pro-apoptotic character of these caspases, they have been supposed to play roles in non-apoptotic events. Such non-apoptotic function for caspase-7 was revealed in our laboratory when cleaved caspase-7 was found during differentiation of odontoblasts, ameloblasts, osteoblasts and in other non-apoptotic cells. To find out if such non-apoptotic role of caspase-7 might be linked also to development of other ectoderm-derived organs, mouse hair follicles were investigated. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect cleaved (activated) caspase-7 and correlate its presence with occurrence of apoptosis. To reveal the specific influence of caspase-7 on apoptotic signalling networks, changes of expression
