Taenia crassiceps tapeworms are intestinal parasites of carnivores (definitive hosts), mostly foxes and dogs. Rodents are natural intermediate hosts with cysticerci localized in body cavities or subcutaneously. Dogs, cats and humans can occasionally alsoserve as intermediate hosts. We documented two cases of larval taeniosis crassiceps in dogs during the years 2012 and 2014 in the Czech Republic. Case 1 - only 1.5 years old yorkshire terrier with more than an year prolonged respiratory Problems. It wasunsuccessfully treated with different antibiotics. At the end the disease was diagnosed as cysticercosis by thoracocentesis and later authopsy. It was a unique case of the occurrence of cysticerci in pleural cavity. Case 2 - geriatric patient 10 years old dog shi-tzu with many chronic diseases. It had oedema in the hip area. After incisione and surgical intervention subcutaneous cysticercosis was diagnosed.
