Dental disease in rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and degus
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Dental disease is considered as the most common disorders seen in herbivorous exotic companion mammals. A complete understanding of the aetiology and pathophysiology of dental disease in these animal species is necessary for the veterinary practitioner to establish a proper therapeutic plan, prognosis and ultimately prevention of this common cause of morbidity and mortality in pet degus (Octodon degus), chinchillas (Chinchilla lanigera), guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) and rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). This presentation provides not only a review of the scientific literature and an overview of the possible aetiology and pathophysiology of the dental disease in pet degus, chinchillas, guinea pigs and rabbits, but also results of the authors research and his clinical experience with dental disease in herbivorous exotic companion mammals.
