Assessing contamination levels a reservoir on the basis of the determination of xenobiotics in fish.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The fish belong to a group of bioindicators that have proved to be very useful for the assessment of the contamination of water ecosystems polluted by various xenobiotics. The foreign literature dealing particularly with marine ecosystems has shown thata high variability of the levels of residues in tissues occurs during the transfer of some xenobiotics from components of the hydrosphere into the tissues of freshwater organisms. The variation of the levels of these residues was not dependent on the sampling site or the season of the year. Furthermore, it was found that the concentrations of some xenobiotics, particularly PCBs, increased with the increasing trophic level. It was shown that animal organisms differ by a mechanism of accumulation of high-chlorinated PCB congeners. Simultaneously, it was found that the correlation dependencies based on PCB concentrations enable one to assess the contamination levels of littoral water and sediment. It is assumed that the environmental respo
