Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The occurrence of intestinal nematode Pseudocapillaria tomentosa (Dujardin 1843) parasiting on topmouth gudgeon Pseudorasbora parva (Temminck & Schlegel 1846) and influence of this parasitism on the basic characteristics of fish were studied. The nematode was found in 73 of 162 (45.10%) specimens of topmouth gudgeon. Mean intensity of infection was 2.17 adult nematodes per fish (range 1-9) and mean abundance of 0.98 (range 1-9). Two models were constructed using Generalized linear models. In the first model, the influence of the number of parasites on Fulton's condition factor was statistically significant. The second model showed that the number of parasites was significantly linked with body weight and standard length. The response of males and females were slightly different in both models. It is the first confirmed case of the negative effect of nematode P. tomentosa on fish condition in Slovakia.
