Strategic planning in towns of Hradec Králové region

This paper deals with the strategic planning quality in the towns of Hradec Králové region. Public sector starts to be driven by strategic planning from beginnings of 90s with link of New Public Management concept development. Survey is conducted on thebasis of entire file of Hradec Králové region towns (44 towns totally) and drawn from 1,977 documents analysis gathered from the internet. Lack of own municipal strategy is proofed in 41 % of assessed towns. Such towns are usually driven according to thegreater area strategy (as voluntary association of municipalities, or micro regional strategy). Surprisingly, there were found also 6 towns (13 %) with no available strategic documents. This paper was developed in the frame of project WD-48-07-1 "Management for Regional Disparities", which is the part of programme "Research for Regional Disparities" financed by the Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic.
