Regional Development in Hradec Kralove Region

This article deals with the issue of regional development in the NUTS II Region Northeast. At present, this problem is particularly topical in the European Union. Firstly, the article focuses on description of different definitions of the terms region and development. The following section is a short description of basic indicators of regional development in the Czech Republic and in the analyzed region, including NUTS III regions within this region. These indicators are related to science and research,and include for instance the number of employees and the amount of expenses in science and research. This article further shows the possible risks of assessing available aggregated quantitie.
