The objective of our research was to complete the profile of the Czech elderly as potential users of the cognitive training applications delivered by the interactive digital television broadcasting. The characteristics of users were captured using the personas` approach, a method that reflects empirical data and that can be taken into account in the process of ambient intelligence and smart home applications development. Personas were built on questionnaires` data and structured interviews. In the laterphase of the project, several psychological tests were used for the verification and evaluation of the prototypes of cognitive training applications.
