Reflecting the call for new knowledge and skills required from the graduates of the Faculty of Informatics and Management, University of Hradec Kralove, the topic of smart and knowledge technology was implemented in the curriculum. To ensure the quality of highly professional training programme, the faculty started cooperation with companies. The aim of the relationship is to provide students with theoretical and practical professional skills and prepare them for new positions that have recently been created on the labour market. Since smart phones were launched, the mobile market has rapidly changed from feature phones to smart phones. As a result, the field of education is concerned with delivery of knowledge through smart devices. The paper introduces the innovative approach to reaching the competences and results of tracking the students' performance in the updated process of instruction.
