DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Communication patterns have changed dramatically in the past years in businesses all over the world and we are experiencing unprecedented changes in the way people code, transfer and decode information through electronic information systems. The changes are present in all aspects of human activity, and moreover, in any business which deals with people such as health care and social care. The paper focuses on the current changes in the global digital world regarding communication patterns which have been changed and attempts to highlight potential communication problems and barriers of communication in healthcare and social care professions. The preliminary research in several organisations providing social care services for elderly people in the Czech Republic has shown that there is very limited awareness of the interculturality of the modern world when communicating through electronic information systems. The author thinks that this could lead to a lot of misunderstanding and potential problems which will cause many losses in information transfers. The communication in health and social care institutions is crucial to maintain trust and harmony, therefore, ignoring the fact of interculturality will necessarily lead to creating problems, and thus, inefficiency in these services.
