In the paper the authors present results of one part of a broader designed research, which goal was to analyse current state and perspectives of informatics education on the tertiary level of education in selected economy and managerial study fields. Purpose of the research was to support curricula modernization and innovation in the relevant study programmes and to bring the content of these study programmes closer to the current demands and needs of practice and labour market as to the knowledge and skills of the graduates. An original feature of the research has been the fact that it has been based on students' points of view. That has been why the necessary research data were collected by a questionnaire survey, respondents of which were students of the concerned study programmes in the Slovak and Czech Republic.
