Rogue router advertisements may appear on a network and can have a huge impact on security and stability. Many Windows clients with enabled internet connection sharing advertise themselves as a IPv6 router. Although there are some techniques to eliminateor block such clients in the network infrastructure, not many of them are implemented so far. The talk is focused on problem of rogue router advertisement detection and tries to describe some ways how to solve it. Experience is mainly obtained during the IPv6 developing process on the university student network.
