El Instituto de Ecología, a sus 30 a?os, organizó el Simposio XXX Aniversario Instituto de Ecología, donde se mostró lo logrado en estos 30 a?os se identificaron retos para el futuro. Se tuvo una participación de personas, instituciones y ambientalistasdedicados a la ecología y actores políticos y sociales con responsabilidad en definir directrices para promover la conservación y gestión de la biodiversidad. En este simposio (4-6, III, 09), hubo 120 presentaciones orales y 16 ponencias de expertos. Elevento fue organizado en siete áreas temáticas: Inventarios y documentación de la biodiversidad de Bolivia, Análisis de estudios sobre dinámicas ecológicas, Manejo y aprovechamiento de flora, vegetación y fauna, Conservación de la biodiversidad, Calidadambiental, Cambios climáticos y Ecología y política. Sobre esta base, fue posible publicar en este libro una visión general de la situación actual y los avances logrados en el conocimiento de la ecología y los recursos naturales del país

The Institute of Ecology, at age 30, has organized the Thirtieth Anniversary Symposium Ecology Institute. This symposium showed what has been achieved in these 30 years and identified challenges for the future. In this symposium participated individuals,institutions and environmentalists dedicated to ecology, and political and social actors which have a responsibility to define guidelines to promote conservation, and biodiversity management. In this symposium (4 - 6, III, 09), there were 120 oral presentations and 16 lectures by experts. The event was organized in 7 thematic areas: Inventory of biodiversity in Bolivia, Analysis of studies on ecological dynamics, Management and use of flora, vegetation and fauna, Biodiversity conservation, Environmental quality, Climate change and Ecology and politics. Based on the publications, it was possible to publish in this book an overview of the current situation and progress made in knowledge of ecology and natural resources of the country and
