Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

A number of small mountain ranges (horsts) separated by small basins (grabens) with Tertiary sedimentary filling appeared in the Western Carpathians mostly in their NW and N part. The Tatry Mts. and smaller so called Ružbachy “island” are the northernmost horsts from a series of Western Carpathian horsts. Our magnetotelluric measurements focusing particularly on the nature of the Sub-Tatra fault and the interconnection of the Tatry Mts. with the Ružbachy “island” confirm steep dip of Sub-Tatra fault in the southern border of the Tatry Mts. and connection of Tatra and Ružbachy horsts to the one transpressional structure.
