Characterization of Size-Fractionated Atmospheric Aerosol Collected in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The SUB-AERO project aims at assessing in the subgrid scale important components of the budget of airborne pollutants. Within this project a detailed mass, elemental, and ionic size distributions of atmospheric aerosol collected in the eastern Mediterranean region were performed. The samples were collected on Crete Island during the periods July 10-31, 2000, and January 7-14, 2001. The main site for sampling was the Finokalia station of the University of Crete. Finokalia (35 19 N, 25 40' E) is a coastalremote site eastward Heraklion on the top of a hill (elevation 130m) facing the sea within the sector of 270 to 90 degrees. Depending on the weather the air masses reaching the station originate from Europe to Africa. In addition samples of atmosphericaerosol were also collected during the period July 25-29, 2000 aboard the research vessel ``AEGAIEO''. The vessel cruised in the Aegean See along selected tracks calculated by forward and back trajectory modelling with the Finokalia site
