Hydrological and ecological significance and site-to-site variation of the low cloud and fog water deposition is studied in the Czech Republic since the second half of the eightieth. The individual localities are differing in the pollutants loads, situation and elevation. Four localities represent the mountainous forested regions while three localities were selected to describe the urban areas of the Czech Republic. Present article will demonstrate results from the higher elevation zones (the Sumava Mts., Jizerske hory Mts. and Krkonose Mts) and from urban area (capital Prague). The main objectives of the present article are to: (i) describe the monitoring network over the Czech Republic; (ii) describe the devices for the low cloud and fog water samples collection; (iii) work out the statistical analysis of the occurrence and duration of the individual types of the occult precipitation in the selected regions of the Czech Republic; (iv) characterize the chemical composition of fog and
