This article presents the characterization of historic mosaic at Pfeiffer-Kral Sepulcher, Jablonec nad Nisou. The identification of mortar and tesserae composition and the origin of materials is decisive for the restoration of this historical monument. The obtained results and their comparison with published ones showed that the mortar is an Italian type but consists of the local lime and the local potshards. The chemical analyses proved that tesserae were not fabricated in the Bohemia and their Italianorigin is supported by the chemical analyses.
