Zwischen dem östlichen Norditalien und dem nordöstlichen Alpenraum gab es in der Stufe Ha C und zu Anfang vom Ha D1 wichtige Handelswege, die mit dem Bernsteintransport zusammenhingen. Böhmen wurde damals nur am Rande in das Fernhandelsnetz eingeschlossen. In der zweiten Hälfte des 6. Jahrhunderts v. Chr. verschob sich der Bernsteinsweg nach Wesen, in Mitteleuropa führte er durch das böhmische Becken. Importe attischer rotfiguriger Keramik auch die heimische Keramikproduktion beeinflussten. Die Ausstattung der prunkvollen Gräber mit zweirädrigem Wagen aus West- und Südböhmen aus der Zeit der Entstehung der Lat?nekultur wird als eines der wichtigsten Beispiele für das Niveau des damaligen Kunsthandwerks in Böhmen gewertet. Die riesigen Machtzentren Vladař und Závist, die ab Ha D2-3 ausgedehnte Regionen beherrscht hatten, waren ein ganz besonderes Phänomen der zeitgenössischen Siedlungsstruktur.

Between north-east Italy and the north-east Alps there existed, during Ha C and the beginning of Ha D1, important trade routes which were associated with the transport of amber. Bohemia was only peripherally involved in this long-distance trade network.In the second half of the 6th century BC the course of the amber route shifted towards the west: in central Europe it passed through the Bohemian basin towards the Danube. Imitations of red-figured kylikes show that imported Attic pottery influenced thelocal pottery production. The rich graves with two-wheeled chariots from west and south Bohemia at the time of the formation of the La T?ne culture can be judged as one of the particularly well examples of the genesis of the La T?ne art style. The vast defensive enclosures of the Vladař and Závist, which from Ha D2-3 onwards controlled extensive territories, were an exceptional phenomenon in the settlement structure of the period.
