Der Artikel bietet einen kurzen Überblick über die Entwicklung der wichtigsten Fibeltypen der älteren Eisenzeit auf dem Gebiet der Tschechischen Republik und Bayern. Im Mitteleuropa der Eisenzeit finden sich großartige Objekte mit Einlagen aus kostbaren Materialien, die aus weit entfernten Regionen Nord- und Südeuropas stammen. Einige Bronzefibeln aus dem 6. und 5. Jahrhundert v. Chr. sind beispielsweise mit roter Koralle (Corallium rubrum), Bernstein und Gold eingelegt. Die Einlagen in den prächtigen Metallartefakten bergen eine tiefere symbolische Bedeutung. In der Antike galt die rote Koralle als Substanz mit apotropäischer und heilender Wirkung. Die Arbeit folgt neuen Entdeckungen bearbeiteter und unbearbeiteter Stücke roter Koralle und legt nahe, dass insbesondere im 6. und 5. Jahrhundert v. Chr. in Mitteleuropa spezialisierte Juweliere in Werkstätten in stark befestigten Machtzentren oder auch nur in gelegentlich mit Palisaden umzäunten Siedlungen arbeiteten, die beispielsweise entlang der Bernsteinstraßen errichtet wurden.

The article provides a brief overview of the development of the main types of Early Iron Age fibulae in the territory of the Czech Republic and Bavaria. In Early Iron Age Central Europe, wonderful objects with inlays made of precious materials appear, which come from distant regions in the north and south of Europe. Some bronze fibulae from the 6th and 5th centuries BC are, for example, inlaid with red coral (Corallium rubrum), amber and gold. The inlays in the magnificent metal artifacts hid a deeper symbolic meaning. In antiquity, red coral was considered a substance with apotropaic and healing properties. The work follows new discoveries of worked and unworked pieces of red coral and suggests that especially in the 6th and 5th centuries BC in Central Europe, specialized jewelers worked in workshops inside heavily fortified power centers or just palisade-fenced settlements occasionally established, for example, along the routes of the Amber Roads.
