Integrating domain repository for archaeological data into the National Data Infrastructure: a case study of fruitful synergy
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Archaeological fieldwork data have been subject to archiving and related data management for many years, as they are not only research output but also a part of the cultural heritage. To ensure the quality of data curation, a domain data repository – the Archaeological Map of the Czech Republic (AMCR) – was established in 2017 and operates within the large research infrastructure of the Archaeological Information System of the Czech Republic (AIS CR). In recent years, the AMCR has undergone a technological and conceptual renewal associated with a general FAIRification and efforts to integrate it into the broader data science framework. At the national level, this is being addressed mainly through active collaboration with EOSC-CZ and related projects, with the aim of integration into the National Data Infrastructure (NDI), leveraging its benefits. The talk introduces the principles of archaeological data management applied in Czechia and presents the implemented and planned steps of integration into the NDI.
