Der Beitrag bietet einen grundlegenden Überblick über die Kriegsgefangenenlager in den böhmischen Ländern während des Ersten Weltkriegs sowie einen Überblick über die archivalischen Quellen und die Literatur zu diesem Thema. Besonderes Augenmerk wird auf das Gedenken an die mit diesen Orten verbundenen Ereignisse gelegt. Obwohl die Geschichtsschreibung das Thema der Kriegsgefangenenlager schon häufig aufgegriffen hat, wurde bisher noch kein umfassendes Werk über die Kriegsgefangenenlager in den böhmischen Ländern veröffentlicht. Die künftige Analyse kann sich auf eine breite Palette von Quellen in den Archiven der zentralen und staatlichen Behörden stützen, die eine hervorragende Grundlage für diese Behandlung darstellen würden, nur ihr fragmentarischer und ungeordneter Zustand kann ein Problem darstellen.

The paper offers the basic overview of prison camps in the Czech lands during the First World War and an overview of archival sources and literature on the subject. Specific attention is paid to the commemoration of events associated with these sites. Although historiography has frequently broached the topic of prisoners of war camps, a comprehensive work on the POW camps in the Czech lands has thus far not been published. The future analysis can rely on a wide range of sources in the archives of the central and state authorities that would make for a formidable basis for this treatment, only their fragmentary and disorganized state can pose a problem.
