High-resolution microclimatic grids for the Bohemian Forest Ecosystem
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The set of microclimatic maps with a spatial resolution of 5 m was created by synthesizing microclimatic data obtained from a newly created network of microclimatic stations. With its extent and density of the network, it is one of the most detailed and spatially representative microclimate datasets to date, not only in the context of the Bohemian Forest Ecosystem, but also on a global scale. Microclimatic maps with such fine spatial resolution, based on data from laser scanning and in-situ measurements in forest stands, are quite unique even on a global scale and open up new possibilities for targeted biodiversity conservation, e.g. spatial modelling of protected species or for targeted adaptation of forest management to climate change, but also provide valuable insights for climatology and hydrology.
