The presentation analyzed in detail species composition of epiphytic diatom communities on 20 fishponds studied in framework of the project, discussed indication value of selected diatom species and dealt also with the use of trophy and saprobity indexes calculated on the basis of diatom data. There was identified important difference between the fishponds in České Budějovice region and Třeboň region as well as according to the management intensity in individual fishponds.
