Le XLIVe Congr?s de la Société des Historiens Médiévistes de l?Enseignement Supérieur Public (SHMESP) s?est tenu ? Prague autour du sujet de la nation au Moyen Âge. Presqu?une centaine des participants (dont 35 interlocuteurs) a traité les significationsdiverses de ce phénom?ne, soit en tant que communauté imaginée dans le domaine de la culture politique, soit dans ses relations ? l?autorité souveraine mais aussi dans ses manifestations concernant la religion, les coutumes ou la langue. Pour son congr?s, la Société a choisi Prague, une ville nettement affectée par les tensions nationales déj? au Moyen Âge. Les séances, co-organisées par l?équipe du Centre d?études médiévales de Prague (CMS), ont eu lieu dans les locaux de l?Institut français, le Cloître d?Emmaüs et la Faculté des Lettres. Enfin, l?excursion ? Kutná Hora, a été organisée le dernier jour du congr?s.

The 44th Congress of the Society of French Mediaevalists (SHMESP), taking place in Prague, was focused on the problematic of the nation in the Middle Ages. Almost 100 participants (35 speakers) treated various meanings of this phenomenon ? as an ?imagined community in the context of the politic culture, the nation could be also analysed in its relationship to the ruling authority as well as in its religious, ethnological or linguistic expression. The Society chose Prague as a congress place because thiscity was widely affected by the national tensions already in the Middle Ages. The sessions, co-organised by the team of the Centre for Mediaeval Studies (CMS), took place in the French Institute, Emmaus Cloister and the Faculty of Arts. Finally, the excursion to Kutná Hora, was organised the last day of the congress.
