An interdisciplinary international annual conference “Philosophy and Social Science”, held in the Institute of Philosophy at the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, dealt with contemporary and important themes of philosophy and social science. This year, it focused on these mutually interlinked themes: (1) Progress in History, (2) Democratic Trajectories, (3) Freedom and Control, and (4) Theory and Imagination. It was organized by the Centre of Global Studies of the Institute of Philosophy CAS in co-operation with foreign colleagues, especially from Germany, Italy, Ireland, USA, and Mexico. All lectures, sessions, and discussions were in the English language.
