Etude sur le sens de la responsabilité et de la liberté au sein de la doctrine déterministe des premiers stoïciens (3ème s. av. J.-C.). Dans une interprétation qui propose une nouvelle perspective sur les problèmes traités dernièrement par S. Bobzien et T. Brennan, l'auteur défend la thèse qu'on doit voir selon laquelle la théorie stoïcienne de l'action doit être vue dans son ensemble – aussi bien son côté psychologique qu'éthique – pour comprendre le concept de la responsabilité, de la liberté ainsi que leur lien. C'est ainsi que la notion d'assentiment reprend sa position centrale et se trouve confirmée dans le concept de la vertu.

A study of the meaning of the responsibility and freedom in the deterministic system of the early Stoics (3. c. BC). The interpretation offers a new perspective on the problems treated recently by S. Bobzien and T. Brennan, and defends a view that the concepts of responsibility and freedom, as well as their relation, become comprehensible if the psychological and ethical aspects of the Stoic theory of action are dealt with together. In this way, the notion of assent regains its central position and finds its structural analogy in the Stoic concept of virtue.
