The article deals with the oldest preserved sermon collection by Jan Hus, the Puncta. Based on the examination of all seven extant manuscripts, it offers new insights into the beginnings of Hus’s preaching career. Contrary to the previous scolarship, dating of the Puncta to 1400-1401 is suggested and substantiated. Furthermore, the sources of Hus’s sermons are commented and the limits of reconstructing oral delivery outlined.
