István Miskolci, der Präzeptor des ungarischen Adeligen Sebastian Thököly, besuchte mit seinem Schützling im Jahre 1603 auf seiner Reise aus Görlitz nach Heidelberg auch die Stadt Prag. In seinem Tagebuch finden wir Beschreibungen vieler Prager Sehenswürdigkeiten, sowie auch Nachricht über seinem Besuch an der Prager Universität und Kontakte mit den Universitätsmeistern. Dies bezügt auch sein bisher erhaltenes Stammbuch mit Einträgen von Martin Bacháček u. a. Miskolci interessierte sich für Inschriften, besonders für die versifizierten, die er in sein Tagebuch wörtlich abschrieb. Außer Prag besuchte er auf seiner Reise auch Jungbunzlau, Brandýs, Velvary, Leitmeritz und Aussig. Der Teil seines Diariums über Böhmen und Prag ist als kommentierte Ausgabe beigefügt.

István Miskolci, the private teacher of the hungarian nobleman Sebastian Thököly, visited Prague on his journey from Görlitz to Heidelberg in the year 1603. We find descriptions of many Prague monuments in his diary together with the information about his visit at the Prague University and his contacts with university professors. They are also documented in his extant album amicorum, containing the album inscription by Martin Bacháček etc. Miscolci was interrested in inscriptions, above all in the versified ones, and he copied them worthly in his diary. Besides Prague he visited also Mladá Boleslav, Brandýs, Velvary, Litoměřice and Ústí nad Labem during his journey. The commented edition of the part of his diary on Prague and Bohemia is in the attachement of the paper.
