El capítulo analiza el tema del alma abierta y cerrada en el contexto de las reflexiones de Patočka sobre el fin de Europa y sobre la era poseuropea y en el contexto de sus reflexiones sobre la existencia humana. Se presta atención a la filosofía de la educación de Comenio, en la que Patočka encontró inspiración para sus ideas sobre la pedagogía de la conversión a la apertura. El capítulo también analiza un cierto paralelismo con Gabriel Marcel, quien, como Patočka, se inspiró en Bergson para sus reflexiones sobre la clausura y la apertura. El capítulo también señala que las ideas de la clausura y apertura cobran una nueva actualidad en el présente, que está desgarrado por los conflictos bélicos, odio y violencia.

The chapter analyzes the theme of the closed and open soul in the context of Patočka’s reflections on the end of Europe and the post-European period and in the context of his reflections on human existence. Attention is paid to Comenius’ philosophy of education, in which Patočka found inspiration for his ideas about the pedagogy of the turn to the openness. The chapter also discusses a certain parallelism with Gabriel Marcel, who, like Patočka, drew inspiration from Bergson for his reflections on closedness and openness. The chapter also points out that the ideas of closedness and openness are very urgent in the present time, filled with war conflicts, hatred and violence.
