The paper examines a manuscript copybook of the Czech Utraquist priest Izaiáš Camillus Vodňanský, containing a variety of records and correspondence from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. This little-known source on the history of the Utraquist church administration is examined with a particular focus on the functional distribution of the two languages used by Camillus, namely Latin and Czech. To do so, the article presents the content of selected records and attempts to interpret the author’s choice of language, particularly with regard to the addressees of the letters and the question of whether the communication was local or international.
