Die Studie analysiert die diversen Strategie adliger Frauen und ihrer Familien, um Stiftungsplätze im Theresianischen Damenstift auf der Prager Burg zu erhalten, das fast zwei Jahrhunderte lang (1755-1952/3) als Wohlfahrtseinrichtung für unverheiratete Töchter aus prominenten aristokratischen Familien diente. Die Studie gibt somit einen näheren Einblick in die aristokratische Gesellschaft des 19. Jahrhunderts und ihre sozialen Sicherheitsnetze.

The study analyses the diverse strategies of noblewomen and their families to obtain endowment places in the Theresian Institute of Noblewomen at Prague Castle, which served for almost two centuries (1755-1952/3) as a welfare institution for unmarried daughters from prominent aristocratic families. The study thus provides a closer insight into the 19th-century aristocratic society and its social safety nets.
