RamanBase is an integrated online platform for work with Raman spectroscopic data. RamanBase – database itself – currently (16. 12. 2022) contains 97303 Raman spectra. The database is accessible worldwide and any registered user can enter additional spectra. Registration is free of charge. Non-registered user can view all shared spectra in the database. Associated online software package serves to handle the data, including the upload, download, search by name of the spectra or keywords (full-text) and similarity (correlation), and many other functionalities. RamanBase will allow you to: 1) Create your private online repository of spectroscopic data. 2) Upload and download spectroscopic data in any standard format. 3) Add important notes to individual Raman spectra or whole datasets. 4) Browse and view Raman spectra easily and with intuitive online tools. 5) Search your or other users’ shared data by full-text, e.g. sample name or notes. 6) Sort and identify spectra by similarity. 7) Use AI to search for differences or similarities in groups of spectra. 8) Selectively share published spectra, raw source data, or unpublishable snippets with other users. 9) Contact other users and discuss your findings. Our mission: RamanBase is a web based platform for management and sharing of Raman spectroscopic data. It allows authors to share the full extent of their work with the world. RamanBase importantly presents a set of methods for searching the spectra by various attributes, including AI based identification and sorting. RamanBase creates the virtual workspace for Raman spectra in the way analogous to the NCBI and Blast being a virtual workspace for all genetic sequences, where all authors deposit both their raw and refined data and where anyone can search and download them. Free sharing of the genetic makeup of organisms across the scientific community has been absolutely fundamental for the molecular revolution we currently witness. Our goal is to establish a parallel direction to the Raman-spectroscopic universe to initiate a revolution in sharing and management of Raman spectroscopic data. RamanBase represents the framework, which will be continually updated and adjusted to the needs of the community. We strive to build the Raman-spectroscopic virtual infrastructure where everyone will feel comfortable, safe and welcome.
