An evaluation of the impact of the European Association of Social Psychology: A response to Schruijer (2012)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The authors discuss the achievements of European Association of Social Psychology (EASP) as a contribution to debate opened by the article of Schruijer (2012). The authors take a different, wider perspective to evaluate the impact of EASP in Europe. Theyconsider subtle yet important differences in the evolution of social psychology in particular countries. With an example of Italian scholars, the authors illustrate how European academics become more successful over time in international publication process not only in European but also in North-American journals that are leading in the field. They conclude that since the founding of the EASP in 1967 scientific development in social psychology has changed from being a one-sided enterprise, with North American ideas being adopted in Europe, to a mutual development, in which European ideas have also been taken up in the USA.
