Der Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit Goldgegenständen des 5. Jahrhunderts im Gebiet nördlich der mittleren Donau, die als prestigeträchtige Beigaben tzw. Objekte der Selbstrepräsentation im Jenseits angesprochen werden können. Die prominentesten Vertreter sind die Grabschätze von Untersiebenbrunn (A) und das Spathagrab von Blučina-Cezavy in Mähren (CZ). Dieses Grab kann als Niederschlag der gesellschaftlichen Prozesse verstanden werden, die nach dem Untergang des Atillareiches zum Aufschwung der gentilen Königreichen im mittleren Donauraum führten.

This contribution focuses on gold objects found in 5th century graves in the area north of the Middle Danube and which are interpreted as prestige grave goods and objects of self-representation in the afterlife. The most prominent representatives are therich assemblages from Untersiebenbrunn (A) and the spatha grave from Blučina-Cezavy in Moravia (CZ). The grave can be understood as reflection of the social processes which, after the dissolution of Atillas Empire, led to the rise of gentile kingdoms along the Middle Danube.
