The Moravian Bohunician represents a tile within the mosaic of techno-complexes staying on the imaginary boundary of the Middle Paleolithic (MP) and Upper Paleolithic (UP) in a large territory of Eurasia. The industry displays elements characteristic of the MP and UP both in technology (a conceptual fusion of Levalloisian technology and prismatic core reduction) and typology (a mix of MP and UP tools) and therefore is called as transitional industry. The Bohunician was documented in the zone of contact in the time of contact between local Neanderthal and incoming AMH populations. Therefore the Bohunician is an important topic for the study of possible Neanderthal/AMH interactions in the area, if not borne by AMH itself.
