Der 6. Workshop des Netzwerks Archäologisch-Historisches Metallhandwerk (NAHM) hat an der Universität Tübingen stattgefunden und hat sich der SPURENSUCHE gewidmet. Der Themenkreis 'Werkzeuge – Werkstücke – Werkstoffe' hat dazu eingeladen, sich der Praxis des Metallhandwerks über die Auseinandersetzung mit unterschiedlichsten 'Spurenträgern' als Informationsquelle zu nähern. Im Fokus des Workshops standen Werkzeuge jeder Art, die halbfertigen und fertigen Werkstücke mit ihren Herstellungsspuren, ebenso wie die zur Produktion verwendeten Werkstoffe. Damit haben wir sowohl das handwerkliche Tun in einer stationären Werkstatt gefasst als auch das Tätigkeitsfeld des mobilen Feinschmieds. Die SPURENSUCHE gingen dabei auch über die materiellen Hinterlassenschaften hinaus, indem wir im Workshop ebenfalls Schrift- und Bildquellen als 'Spurenträger' heranziehen. In insgesamt 17 Vorträgen gegliedert nach vier Themenblöcken haben Expertinnen und Experten aus den Bereichen Archäologie, Archäometrie, Restaurierung/Konservierung, den historischen Wissenschaften und dem Kunsthandwerk ihre Erkenntnisse zur Organisation des Metallhandwerks zwischen Bronzezeit und der Frühen Neuzeit ausgetauscht.

The 6th workshop of the Network for Archaeological-Historical Metalworking (NAHM) took place at the University of Tübingen and was dedicated to the search for traces. The theme 'Tools – Workpieces – Materials' invites participants to approach the practice of metalworking by examining a wide variety of 'traces' as sources of information. The workshop focused on tools of all kinds, semi-finished and finished workpieces with their traces of manufacture, as well as the materials used in production. This encompasses both the craft activities in a stationary workshop and the work of the itinerant metalworker. The search for traces extends beyond material remains, as the workshop has also utilize written and pictorial sources as 'traces' In a total of 17 lectures, divided into four thematic blocks, experts from the fields of archaeology, archaeometry, restoration/conservation, historical sciences and arts and crafts exchanged their findings on the organisation of metalworking between the Bronze Age and the Early Modern period.
