Comparison of various sampling methods for evaluation of biodiversity of true bugs (Heteroptera) in a birch forest.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Biodiversity evaluation of insect community is strongly influenced by used sampling method. We applied five methods (photocclectors, soil traps, shaking down, yellow dishes in low and high position) in three localities of Northern Bohemia in the birch forest at the same time and we compared quantitative and qualitative properties of heteropteran taxocoenosis. Qualitatively similar samples of communities were obtained from the photoeclector method and soil traps with the dominance of epigeic species and, further, from the methods of shaking down and yellow dishes. The effectivity of sampling methods was assessed using the rarefaction method revealing a high heteropteran species richness obtained by yellow dishes as compared with abundant samples from shaking down and photoeclectors. Biodiversity measures depend on the sampling method, the lowest were in the samples collected by shaking down, while the highest species diversity was recorded in the sample from yellow dishes.
