The Czech countryside underwent a relatively rapid transformation. While ownership of land is fragmentary, production is characterized by distinct concentration. The Czech countryside can be dividen into three basic types: countryside in the city hinterland influenced by suburbaization processes, countriside with wel permeable and vergile lowland and coutryside on the periphery, which constitutes the main problem from the regional perspective. The topics of the paper are gemographic changes in the countryside, emplyement and structure of agricultural enterprises.
