Coal and Peat Fires: A Global Perspective is a compelling collection of research conducted by scientists and engineers around the world. The second of four volumes in the collection, Photographs and Multimedia Tours features stunning photographsfrom around the worldIn the Czech Republic (CR), coal has been mined for about 200 years. Coal deposits and mining activities are dominant in the vicinity of agricultural and/or industrial regions. Figure CZ 1 shows the locations of the major coal deposits in the Czech Republic.
