Czech Republic: the planning and management of geotourism’s hidden resources
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The high lithological and morphological diversity of the Czech Republic is the main resource for geotourism. Thanks to its position on the contact of Bohemian Massive and Outer Carpathians nearly every geological period and nearly all types of relief of the mild humid climate zone can be found in the relatively small area of this country. The attractiveness of the abiotic features is often increased by historical, cultural and mythological aspects. This, together with a long history of geoconservation (which has always been linked to geotourist activities), with the acceptance of the importance of geodiversity and geoheritage both for conservation activities and local/regional development, and with growing interest of the public in these features significantly contributes to geotourism development.
