L’histoire, dit-on en boucle en Égypte aujourd’hui dès qu’il est question des Frères musulmans, se répète. Difficile pourtant de distinguer du discours sur les Frères ou de la violence des Frères, ce qui entre 1954 et 1965 ou 2013, s’est reproduit. Mise en cause, la façon dont l’État égyptien s’accommode et se protège de la popularité des Frères : une rhétorique anti-Frères, la construction d’un savoir et le lien étroit entre l’État et des autorités intellectuelles.

The rise of the Muslim Brotherhood candidates to power, the presidency in 2012 and Egypt's key cultural institutions in 2013, was theatrically represented as the return of Sayyid Qutb, a former member of the Brotherhood who was accused of conspiracy and executed in 1966. Building on Qutb's daunting public image forged during the 1960s, the argument was a powerful trop in the recent anti-Muslim Brotherhood campaign in 2013. By looking into entanglements between the anti-Brotherhood rhetorics, the construction of public knowledge and relations between the State and intellectuals, this article focuses on the ways the anti-Muslim Brotherhood discourse is travels across the history
