Der Aufsatz beschäftigt sich mit der einfachen, aber sicher legitimen Frage: existiert der Bau, der dem Maler als Vorbild für seine Abbildung des alttestamentliches Palastes des Kömigs David dienen könnte? Die Antwort ist genauso einfach wie die Frage: es geht um das Palais aus der Radierung von Paul Vredeman de Vries: Ionica-Odor; es zeigt sich durch sie, wie eng waren die Beziehungen der rudolfinischen Künstler.
