Die Frage nach der Autonomie der Kunst gewinnt in der Unfreiheit der NS-Haft im Ghetto Theresienstadt eine eigentümlich praktische Bedeutung. Mit den Chorsätzen als Einstieg werden – ohne auf eine Inhaltsanalyse abzuzielen – die Welthaltigkeit und die Verstrickungen der Musik in lebensweltliche Gegebenheiten bei Gideon Klein diskutiert.
