Der Beitrag befasst sich mit dem Gebetbuch für König Wenzel IV., das hauptsächlich für das angebliche Porträt des Königs und seiner Frau Sophie von Bayern bekannt wurde. Im Vergleich mit der Struktur eines typischen Stundenbuchs, stellt sich heraus, dass die Handschrift mehrere einzigartige Texteinheiten enthält. Untersucht wird die Frage, welche Elemente zur Individualisierung des Buches beitragen und woraus die einzigartige visuelle Gestaltung des Buches besteht.

The paper deals with the prayer book of King Wenceslas IV, primarily known for the alleged portrait of the king and his wife, Sophie of Bavaria. Comparing with the structure of a typical book of hours, it shows that the manuscript contains several unique textual units. Examined is the question of which elements contribute to the individualisation of the book and what the unique visual design of the book consists of.
